Day 6 Visiting the Chens
Greetings Friends & Family
The team has been having some wifi issues with the blog, so our apologies.
Today the team had the opportunity to attend Sunday service at Evergreen Chapel with Joy's congregation. Our fellow Crossway members, the Starks were also in attendance, as they were also visiting Japan :)
The team also had the opportunity to go and see our beloved Yumiko and Charlie Chen in Chiba. Mizuki, her mother Eiko san, and Joy accompanied the team on the 2 hour train ride to Chiba. Eiko -san (83 yrs) was so sweet in making sure the team arrived safety. We all enjoyed lunch together at a yummy bakery at the train station.
Once we arrived in Chiba, Yumiko and Charlie greeted the team and transported all of us to their church - Honda Chapel. There the team met with the original founding pastor, Dan Iverson. The team attended the 3:00 PM Sunday service with the Chens at their chapel. What a beautiful church and such kind and friendly people.
Afterwards the team enjoyed dinner with the Chens and the Iversons at a local restaurant.
It was so encouraging to the Chens for the team to come out to see them. They expressed so much gratitude for everyone's support and prayers as they continue to serve Jesus in Chiba. Charlie was under the weather, so your prayers would be so helpful. Yumiko, sweet as always, so happy to see so many familiar faces. The Chens are doing well and are getting settled in Chiba.
The team returned to Machida by train, which was quite an experience during rush hour. Team bonding! :)
