Day 13 American Christmas Party - Evergreen Chapel

Hi Friends & Family

Today we attended Sunday morning worship service at Evergreen Chapel.



Every kid is so darn cute in Japan!

Stan & Diane Date sent a video message about their granddaughter -Hannah Kaprelian's miracle birth for the congregation to hear. So moving and such a great testament to God's grace!


 Uchimura Sensei's daughters - Megu & Hanna performed a special Christmas song during service. 

 The team hosted appetizers for the congregation before enjoying a potluck lunch with everyone. 


 Jean's mother's best friend - Yoriko travelled 2.5 hours to come to the service to see Jean :)

Michael & Donny prepared chili for the potluck - a big hit with everyone. 

 Evergreen Chapel sure knows how to eat! :)

Following the food and fellowship, the team played games with everyone and handed out prizes :)

Such a great time with all!

For dinner, Evergreen Chapel hosted a special thank you / goodbye dinner for the team. Everyone from Evergreen has been so sweet and generous to the team. We are so blessed to have gotten to know them while here on our mission. They have touched our hearts forever!

Tomorrow the team travels back to Los Angeles. We will miss Japan, but can't wait to return and tell our church families all about the amazing time we had!

Day 5 J.O.Y Club Christmas Party

Hi Family & Friends Today is the big day! J.O.Y Club Christmas Party. The team along with several Evergreen Chapel volunteers came to get everything together for the kids. This year we had 30 children, along with their parents attend. The time was such a blessing with the kids :) So many volunteers came to help bake yummy treats, including persimmon cake, cheesecake, and chocolate cream cake for the children. Such loving hearts and amazing bakers! The kids had so much fun playing games, listening to the story about the birth of Jesus, making an ornament craft, getting tattoos, getting their pictures taken, and picking out prizes to take home with them.  It was such a great day with the kids! Day 14 Returning to Los Angeles

Hi Friends & Family Thanks so much for following us on our journey to Machida Japan! Today the team returned from their 14 day mission's trip. Day 3 Miho's Birthday

Hello friends and family! Today we started our preparations for the upcoming J.O.Y Club party. We have been working hard to get all the crafts and games set up for the kids. Thank you to all who helped prep stuff in LA, what a huge help that has been! :) We also went to see Miho san for her birthday. She is not feeling well at the moment, but her spirt was uplifted with the team going to spend time with her. Our time with Miho san was truly a blessing. We also went to have bento lunch with sensei at a local shopping center. We shopped at OK market to pick up supplies for our upcoming festivities. For dinner, we enjoyed bentos with Mizuki san and Joy. Later we also celebrated Mike’s birthday! In Him, Machida Japan Team 2017
