Day 11 Wakakusa Pre School, J.O.Y Club Mothers Food Demo, J.O.Y Club Advanced English Class

Hi Friends & Family

Today the team had a packed schedule! We started our day off by visiting a local pre school that Joy teaches English & Bible time at - Wakakusa.

We sang songs with the kids :)

The team taught the children three new English Christmas words: Bell, Reindeer, Christmas tree.

Jean read them a Christmas Bible story in Japanese!

We watched the children practicing their music. They played the melodian - impressive :)

The kids ran around their playground with each other, so fun on a cold day.

Then the team had lunch with the kids. The school staff makes sure the kids eat all their food before they can have their dessert ;)

Then the kids head off to nap time zzZ

Afterwards the team prepped for the J.O.Y Club Mothers Food Demonstration. We had several mothers attend the two afternoon sessions.

Michael & Tracy demonstrated a Seafood Dip for the mothers along with coffee & tea.
Jean made her famous Rainbow Jello.

Some of the mothers brought their cute kids too and the team had a blast playing with them :)

For dinner, Chiba san made the team dinner, so oishii!

In the evening the team participated in the last J.O.Y Club Advanced English class for the week. Two High school students - Megu (Uchimura Sensei's daughter) and Mao attended, along with Mao's mother - Rumiko.

The team learned fun facts about Valentine's Day in Japan. The girls are actually the ones who make chocolates and sweets for the guys they like and give it to them on February 14th. Then on March 14, the guys will present the girl with an item to indicate whether they are interested or not.

Megu and Mao performed a traditional Japanese tea ceremony for the team - what a treat!

We did the dish towel craft.

Another great day spent reaching the people of Machida Japan!

Please keep sensei's wife - Miho san in your prayers. Miho has been living with a degenerative condition for the past 5 years. Yesterday the team learned that she had to go to the hospital due to health issues. Miho is still in the hospital under observation. Please continue to pray for Sensei's family, Miho's health, and that she will be well enough to return home soon.

In Him,
Machida Japan Team 2017
